02Chapter 2 · The System

Solar, storage, and a single honest meter.

The proposed system pairs rooftop solar with battery storage so clean energy is used when the resort needs it — day and night. Billing follows one measured boundary: the meter.

  1. Solar array60.77 kWp DC
  2. Inverter80 kW, 3-phase
  3. Battery (BESS)231.5 kWh usable
  4. MeterBilling boundary
  5. Resort loadMon Loisir cluster

Solar charges the resort load first; the battery stores excess for evening use. Every unit billed is measured at the meter.

Clause 34

The CEB benchmark

The proposal prices against Tariff 217 at MUR 8.99/kWh. The UtCS starting rate sits exactly 15% below it. Stated effective 1 May 2026 in the source.

Sugar Beach keeps its CEB account. CEB fixed charges, demand charges and any energy not supplied by the UtCS system remain billed by CEB.

Autonomy is a design estimate, not whole-hotel backup

The 1.42-nights autonomy figure is a mean-day design estimate for the modeled load. It is not a guarantee of uninterrupted power for the entire resort.

Engineering confirmation items

The source mixes off-grid language with a grid-tied inverter description and labels a 400 V supply as high voltage. The final electrical topology, voltage terminology, metering boundary and commissioning status are to be confirmed before execution.
